IMAP and IMP

I currently have setup both RC of Horde, and IMP. 

I am have setup  IMAP for authentication. Everything works except for
sending mail thru IMP. even on the host machine, the message isnt sent,
and IMP comes back with and error which is not specified. 

checked logs, nothing signifigant there other than the IMAP login.

Solaris 8 on ultra 10. 
apache 1.3.22
php 4.06
UW imap server. 

I have tried the server setting with both 'localhost', and the actual dns
name for my mail server. IMAP does work, I have tested it on a win2k box
with OE. 

Any help would be great.
