I (accidentally) installed 4.1.1 on a machine that had 4.0.6 and got quite
some headache but now I have two machines running latest versions of Horde/Imp/
Turba/Kronolith with Apache-1.3.22 and everything is okay. I run on FreeBSD
and I use Apache/PHP from the ports tree. The rest I installed from the tarballs.
All I did when I had the accident was:

pkg_remove apache
pkg_remove php
pkg_remove pear

Then

cd /path/to/apache+modssl/ && make install
cd /path/to/php-4.1.1/ && make install (Do not include support for iconv)

Then did some corrections on httpd.conf (the new one is rather complicated
when it comes to VirtualHosts). I was up soon after some good guys on this
list pointed it out to me that I should _not_ include iconv with php-4.1.1
