APACHE + SSL

Hi!

I know my question is not very related to imp, but :
what is the best way to encrypt connection from
browser to computer? I heard about Apache-SSL and
module called mod_ssl or similar. But these are only
two was of how I can encrypt the connection. Maybe
there are more? What is better when using with imp?
