  You can apt-get php:

You also have to make sure that these two lines are in your

  LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libphp4.so
  AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

The 4.2.0 tree seems to be quite buggy at the moment, I get compile errors,
segfaults or this $imp['msgl'] problem.

This is a session problem and there is currently a lot of work on the
session backend in php. So all we can do right now is to wait until the
session code is bit more mature again.

I'm compiling the latest cvs checkout while I write theses lines. Let's see
what happens. :-)

This happens already in the cvs version.

Language support is much better for Solaris in the cvs version. If you
can't get it work with the help from the mailing list archive, you should
use the cvs version of Horde/IMP or wait for the next release (coming this
month).

There was a long thread about this problem on this list recently. You
should checkout the archives to get more information.

But as a quick guess, it may be possible that your c-client is outdated or
otherwise buggy.
