pop3 login not working

Hi.

I'm currently trying to login to a pop3 mail account in IMP and it's not
working. I can successfully login to my other pop3 accounts so I'm
pretty sure config/servers.php is fine. I can also successfully login to
this account using outlook and other pop3 clients so I don't think it a
problem with the account.

The account I'm have the problem with is on a shared domain hosted
system so the username I specify is in the following format:

username%domainname

Logging in to IMP using POP3 or IMAP uses the PHP imap_open function and
I've written a short test.php page to test imap_open with my pop3
account settings. This didn't work as well so I think it's a PHP issue
with imap_open. The problem maybe being with the special character in
the username? I'm currently using PHP 4.0.6 w/ the newest PEAR.

Has anyone run into this problem and do you know if newer versions of
PHP fix it or if there's another fix?

Thanks,
Jesse.

So, is any of this a solution which could work in the distribution? It sounds
like it's not...

This is because of how the PEAR Mail libraries handle invalid addresses, and
the mail seems to be sent to '@' - which your MTA seems to interpret as
postmaster. You should raise the bug against the PEAR libraries.

It will more likely depend on the version of PHP and your cclient-library
    (needed for PHP-imap).

I'm using php-4.1.0-0horde2 and I don't know how to tell what version of
cclient-library I'm using.
I haven't used UW-Imapd so I don't know whether it will connect. I also
don't use port 143 for anything so I can't connect with no-ssl.

    I have php-4.1.2 and cclient-2001a:
    - UW-Imapd can be reached flawlessly with 143 (nossl), 143(starttls), 993(ssl)
    - Cyrus completely refuses to connect on either port.

In addition you should make sure you have the right settings in your
    server.conf.
