[imp] why did I get error '500 Authentication failure.' on poppassd?

I got this error when I changed my password on passwd module.

I tried to use poppass by telnet and it had error too.

# telnet localhost 106

200 hello, who are you?
user cri001
200 your password please.
pass cri001 (Sure, It's correct to type it)
500 Authentication failure.
Connection closed by foreign host.

I don't know. What did I do wrong to set up poppassd on solaris8?
