[imp] # sign column

Silly question, but what is the # sign column supposed to be in the 
INBOX message listing?  My numbers don't appear in any specific 
order... they seem to be random, even when I try to sort on this column. 
 Is it possible to remove this column from the listing?  When I tried the 
demo site, I don't get this column.
