Ah okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
But when I sort using that field, shouldn't the numbers appear
sequencially? Because they do not on my system. In fact, I did a side
by side compare, and the messages in my INBOX appear in the same
order no matter if the "#" field or the "Date" field is checked as the sort
order.
