We have a lot of apache child process forking off and dying right away. This only happens on our webmail servers.
The error:
[Thu Aug 22 11:16:32 2002] [notice] child pid 13015 exit signal Bus Error (10)
[Thu Aug 22 11:16:33 2002] [notice] child pid 13009 exit signal Bus Error (10)
[Thu Aug 22 11:16:34 2002] [notice] child pid 13013 exit signal Bus Error (10)
[Thu Aug 22 11:16:35 2002] [notice] child pid 13016 exit signal Segmentation Fault (11)
[Thu Aug 22 11:16:35 2002] [notice] child pid 13014 exit signal Bus Error (10)
the details:
Hardware
We're using Solaris 8 on Sun SunFire 280R's. We have 3 of them and all are exhibiting the same problem. We're working on installing this stuff on a T1 to see if it's the hardware or what.
Software:
apache-1.3.26
modssl-2.8.10
php-4.2.2
libmm-1.2.1
openldap_clients-2.0.23
(we use ldap to check the university address book and one other, compilicated kludgey thing -- we have 2 IMAP servers, and which IMAP server to go to is stored in LDAP).
results of bin/httpd -l
Compiled-in modules:
http_core.c
mod_so.c
suexec: disabled; invalid wrapper /usr/local/apache/bin/suexec
aspell-.33.7.1
pspell-.12.2
horde-2.1
imp-3.1
turba-1.0
Can anyone help? Those error fill our logs, and eventually apache segfaults and (doesn't drop core and) gives us blank pages when we try to access IMP, although the http process works fine, and plaintext files serve up just fine.
