Hi!
I am working on a problem with IMP,mySQL and IMAP.
System:
IMP and mySQL is running on a dual Xenon Server (Linux redhat 7, 2Gig ECC memory, raid)
connection to
iMAIL (v7.1) server a dual Xenon (Windows 2000, 2Gig ECC memory, raid) with IMAP protocol.
i am not sure but I belive they are connected with eatch other via a 100Mb lan. (in same server room)
iMail is currently handling approx 14-17000 users. Conncting via POP3 or IMAP directly to iMail is no problem.
Problem:
now there are two major problems;
1) sometimes mysqld is running like crazy and gets up to 3-500 threads up and running witch most of them should me killed or is just taking up memory. Why? is there a bug in imp that does not close a used connection?? Someone is looking into the configuration of mySQL as a problem.
but any help is wanted.
2) in many cases on a busy day the linux server is also having big problem just connecting and getting mail over IMAP protocol. Is this to do with many users having lot of mail?
Thanks
