I did, 

so I shut it off... No change after restarting apache and logging back in.  
The problem does appear to occur with only Opera though.. Mozilla and IE 
(Linux/Win98) seem to be fine.  I did put print stmt's all around the 
failing line and traced it back to the output of the 

$hcemd5->decodeMimeSelfRand($ciphertext);

(In Secret.php)

The input appears correct (at least matches the cookie value),
but the output contains mostly binary chars and I don't think unserialize 
handles them....

Weird.
