[imp] Select users unable to login to IMP (imap)

Greetz list, 

I am running IMP 3.1/Horde-latest on Apache 1.3.26/PHP 4.2.3 on OpenBSD 3.2.

I currently have 4 mail users on my system that I would like to be able to use
IMP for IMAP access. IMAP server is courier-imap-1.5.3 and these users are able
to IMAP in from another host and imap client. However when authenticating to IMP
they recieve the message reporting unsuccessful login and possible incorrect
username/password.  Failed authentications produce the following types of errors
in horde.log:

"/var/www/htdocs/horde/imp/lib/IMP.php"]

Can someone help me figure out how 2 users can authenticate while 2 cannot
through horde/imp?
