[imp] another problem with login.php / error message appears

HI !
I've downloaded the Log-1[1].5.2.tgz package.
I'm unpacking it , and running th e following command:
bash~> pear install Log

Then the following message appears:
<b>Fatal error</b>:  Failed opening required 'PEAR.php'
(include_path='.:') in <b>/usr/bin/pear</b> on line <b>44</b><br />

I've also tried to install ir manually.
I've copied the Log.php and the whole Log-directory to
the horde-directory and the imp-3.1 -directory.

Then just one error message appeard when i tryed to log in:

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'PEAR.php' (include_path='') in
/var/www/horde-2.1/Log.php on line 5

What does this one mean ?

How can i fix this PEAR-problem ?
