It seems to affect just more than myself. I logged on with a few other 
accounts and still have the same problem. I can't delete everyone's 
preferences and then redefine them in Horde since I can't get into 
eveyone's account. 
There's nothing really strange in the mysql log that would attest to a 
failure talking to the sql server. 
going through the apache log, it seems that the current problem isn't a 
related to the ob_gzhandler error that is continuously repeated in the 
apache log. 
if no one else knows why this is happening, i'll back up the preference 
table and empty it out and see if that corrects it. i would like to avoid 
having to recreate the preferences and make the users have to recreate the 
preferences.
