[imp] imp/cyrus/imap/ssl authentication problem

... that is the real problem. PHP's c-client always tries to use the
strongest  authentication method available and fails.
If you don't need cram-md5 authentication, just set
sasl_mech_list: PLAIN
in /etc/imapd.conf
