If you use the RPMS, then you need to configure two files for apache+ssl,
namely /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf (I think,
those paths are from memory, but are at least close if not correct).
BTW, for RH 8.0 you will also need to tweak /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf
as has been previously discussed on the list.
