[imp] Access to other users mailboxes

Here's the report from one of our student consultants on a student who seems to
consistently get into other people's mail:

She usually has to type in her name and password twice before it works.
the first time she receives the "password might be wrong" error.

imp is set as her homepage.  she doesn't really use any
bookmarks.  she's the only one using her computer.  she said she usually
bounces to other people's boxes after letting hers sit for awhile then
trying to delete or send an email.

I am trying to track down what "awhile" might mean. But does this give any clues?
