[imp] Speed Issues with IMP and high volume messages

I'd have to agree that this problem really does sound like an IMAP issue.
Its amazing how much of a difference it can make.

The duplex mis-match isn't a bad thought either.  Also, make sure all the
DNS are setup right as it could be delaying on a reverse lookup or some
such thing.
