[imp] New on language

Need your help. I compiled language in the po dirctory using ./translation.php 
make

After the script was completed, I saw that in directory 
locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/ a new file horde.mo and imp.mo

It it the right procedure to compile a language ? I can access IMP only in 
english again same after this compilation.

How's the right way to compile a language ?
