[imp] auto-selection of imap server?

Hi, 
I'm running horde/imp HEAD for a small userbase and love it so far.  Most of our users have email addresses in one domain, while a small proportion of them have their own domains.  What I'd like to do (to minimize confusion) is to auto-select which imap server config they use automatically.  Is there some kind of hook function i could write that would work something like this:
 
if user='foo' server='server1'
if user='bar' server='server2'
else server = 'server3'
 
I saw that you can do some sort of trick by having them log in with user at domain.com and auto-select that way, but i'd prefer to keep it simple and just let them log in w/their unix usernames.
