[imp] making folders

hello,
Making progress :)
Oddly I can make a new folder in the inbox using Evolution but
cannot make a new folder in horde/imp.
I can rename the folder that Evolution makes ?

"The folder "test" was not created. This is what the server saidInvalid mailbox
name"

It usually is a permission problem.
I have a Maildir in /home/mick which I
chowned mick chgrp mick.
This is probably not right and probably is causing the error.
What should the owner/group/permissions be for Maildir ?
and where exactly is this new folder I created in evolution ?

Also

How do people fetch mail from pop accounts. ?
