This has nothing to do with javascript. Where the cursor is positioned in a
prefilled textarea is completely browser dependant and Gecko browsers
happen to position the cursor at the very bottom.

The setting in the identities has nothing to do with that but only
determines where the *signature* is positioned related to quoted text.

I know that you can at position the cursor at least on IE with some funky
textrange javascript, but I bet this is not really portable.
