[imp] FreeBSD install ports or not

I am running FreeBSD 4.8 and would like to know if the list recommends I
load from the ports or downloading source. I guess I'd prefer to do the
port, but will bow to the wisdom of the list.

I am running qmail, vpopmail, MySql, courier IMAP and Apache2.

Looking for a third alterantive to Suirrelmail and Sqwebmail. Not that I
have any specific problems with those, but need to look at optons for a
client. I really like whjat i see with Horde.
