[imp] Blank screen while reading a message ...

Uing current CVS (older version did the same), when trying to read a
message that says it is 6M in size, it just loads up a blank page ... I'm
up to 64M for memory_size in php.ini rigt now, and the httpd process when
I try to load is up to:

ps aux | grep http
www     54040 52.1  1.5 78508 63692  ??  RJ    2:59AM   1:27.45 /usr/local/sbin/httpd

and eventually it just stop'd loading ... this time with no errors in the
log file about allocating memory ...

something else I should be looking at ?
