[imp] Default from address settings?

How can I set the default from address to be something other than 
usename at hostname?  I think the from address is stored in the identities 
string under horde_prefs.  I need to be able to query another database, 
and pull a default from address if there is not one specified in the 
identity the user is currently using.  Has anyone done this before?
