[imp] attachments problem

I have IMP 3.2 on debian, and when I receive attachments the preview
option in html(clicking the filename) works fine, but when I click the
download icon, in the save window the extension name (.doc,.xls) doesnt
appear, and if I download the file, it's empty(wheter if I add the
extension or not).

Any idea about what can be the problem?
I have Debian Woody,  Apache 1.3.26-0 and PHP 4.1.2-6.
