[imp] CRAM-MD5 authentication error

Hi :)

I'm using horde/imp+sendmail+courier-imap under OpenBSD-3.5.

I'm having a problem authentication users with horde/imp when courier-imap is 
configured to accept plain and cram-md5 passwords; I get the following error:

[error] PHP Notice:  (null)(): Retrying CRAM-MD5 authentication after Login 
failed. (errflg=1) in Unknown on line 0

If I configure courier-imap to plain authentication only, it works... so it 
looks like php tries to use cram-md5 if it is available even if I need plain 
authentication.
Any idea how to solve this ?
Note, that I've seen several messages like this in some archives, but with no 
answer...
