[imp] some help on functions

Hi :)

I was wondering if someone had find a way to use the function:
imp_expand_fromaddress and imp_set_fullname using mysql to get the datas.

If not, do you know how to use the ldap_connect function from php to connect
to an LDAP server using a Unix socket (ldapi) ? I can only connect using
network.

I'm not a php guru, this is why I'm asking for help on setting up this.
