Your admins should be able to build PHP with IMAP support  and  Apache
from source. If not, they should be fired!

Staying at RH 7.3 makes sense to me.  Later  RH  releases  had  severe
shortcomings  IMO. But then one needs to self-maintain it now. Meaning:
from source.
