[imp] segfault on login..

I've been having trouble getting imp to login to any server. I've
finally gotten some access to the error log on my server and have
noticed that the server segfaults upon trying to login..

Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 13 23:42:00 2004] [notice] child pid 10128 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

what could cause horde / imp to segfault php ? What php settings could be bad?
