[imp] problems sending messages with attachments

I have this happeniing with word (.doc) files using https - it fails 
consistently

I get s segfault - never have been able to track it down - Running a 
slightly back lavel head ( a couple of weeks ) - and Apache 1.3.27
PHP 4.3.11
mysql  4.0.16
Patched RH 7.3

So I just told users to zip the file b4 sending and send as a .zip
