[imp] problems sending messages with attachments

We upgraded web.mail.umich.edu to IMP 4.0.3 last night, and the issues are
starting to role in.

We've had a couple of reports of users w/ IE 6.x for WinXp that are unable to
send messages with attachments.  The details are fuzzy, but it appears that
they're able to attach the files, but when they go to send the message, they
get a screen that says "Unable to display page" and the attachment never goes
through.

We were able to point one of these users at our test server, but it worked fine
there (of course).  It's harder for us to tracke users down when they're in our
pool..

has anyone had problems like this?  suggestions?
