[imp] Corrupt Attachments

Additional:

The problem seems to be an extra byte being added to the start of the file.

This can be seen in a text file as and unprintable character ( ie. the empty
square character in notepad.exe)

I've tried with a jpg file:

orginal file size:                3.39 KB (3,473 bytes)
after downloading from a message: 3.39 KB (3,474 bytes)

and the image is unviewable.

Any ideas whats causing this extra byte to be placed? some messed up
encoding/decoding somewhere?
