[imp] Problem to send msgs

Hello people!

I need help. IMP's got me almost crazy...
I using JHorde 3.0.5 and IMP 4.0.4. Every time i try to send a message, I get
the error "unable to authenticate to smtp server" at the compose window. What
does it mean? I tried to find something about this error and I don't have success...

This is showed at /var/log/horde.log
Oct 27 16:42:39 HORDE [error] [imp] unable to authenticate to smtp server [on
line 939 of "/usr/local/www/horde/imp/compose.php"]
