[imp] Getting imp/horde to work in a virtual host

I hope this topic hasn't been beaten to death; however, I am having trouble getting IMP to authenticate and login when I have horde in the webroot of / and imp in /imp.

I've tried the the methods in the faq and wiki (ie, adding the /horde/ and /imp/ alias into my apache config, setting the webroot in the horde config in the registry.php to '' and also '/' will no avail).

Right now, I have no aliases defined in apache, and the webroot set to '' and once I login, it takes me back to the login screen.

if I don't change anything (default), horde goes into a cookie loop of some sort. If I define the aliases (/horde/ and /imp/) in apache and set the apache webroot to /usr/local/www/horde/imp, horde goes into black&white mode, and will take my uname&passwd, and goes back to the login screen.

My maillog also shows that imp authenticated properly with my imap server.

imp&horde works perfectly fine when the web root is /usr/local/www and you manually goto /usr/local/www/horde and login.

I would love any suggestions on how to set this up properly.. I love the horde interface and want to get it working.

My system is FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE, my packages are:

horde-base-3.1.4_2
imp-4.1.4_2
apache-2.2.4_2
php5-5.2.3
mysql-client-5.1.19
mysql-server-5.1.18
php5-mysqli-5.2.3
pear-DB-1.7.11,1

Please let me know if I need to give out more info.

Thanx in advance,
doug
