Hello,

I had written:

On which Gerald Dachs has replied:
> I could use the Horde module Ingo [...] to configure sieve.

Hence, I have *not* said that Horde is the wrong place
to issue a Sieve script. (On the contrary, I have mentioned
this possibility, further down in my contribution.)
What I have said (o tried to say), in the paragraph quoted
supra, is that Horde is the wrong place to do the actual
autoreplying.

To put it in a nutshell: You need an autoreplying mechanism,
in your IMAP server (or in the e-mail channel leading there).
If you have that in place, you can, of course, trigger it
from the Horde framework or from any other suitable user
interface. (We have chosen to have that independent from Horde.)

Best wishes,
