[imp] DIMP cvs + Horde RC?

I know this may not be the most satisfying answer, but getting your  
modifications either committed to the mainline or made into  
hooks/config options would help you (and perhaps Horde) best here.

I would be for that. More frequent RCs are probably better on the whole.
