[imp] Composition problem in Mac OS < 10.4 and Safari 1.x

Safari 1.x is obsolete.  I don't remember changing anything to fix  
Safari 1 in the last 2 months.  it is debatable whether Safari 2  
should be considered obsolete also since, AFAIK, every recent Mac OS  
installation will force an upgrade to Safari 3.
