[imp] IMP is breaking certain attachments.

I had a similar problem some time ago but it was related to always the
same type of attachment (7z files). Setting the mime_magic.magicfile
as described in
http://wiki.horde.org/MimeMagic solved it, eg. unrecognized file types
where sent binary/unmodified further on.
