[imp] problem with stripping Attachment from a mail

This is irrelevant.  Those are 2 completely different versions of  
software.  They can perform a task - such as interacting with the IMAP  
server - in two completely different ways.

You need to look at the IMAP server log, or the IMP IMAP debug log, to  
search for clues on why this is happening.
