[kronolith] Adding events to kronolith

As a new kronolith user .. (and mysql and php and apache and linux ...)

I've installed kronolith under the horde directory of my web server .. and then 
found that I could not add events ..  I read the docs and realised I hadn't 
made the tables in the horde database.  

I fired up mysql -p
used database horde
 and basically cut and pasted the contents of scripts/drivers/kronolith.sql 
into the console

I now find i can add new events etc .. but repeated events do not propagate 
across .. ie if i add a new event and set it to recur every day it only appears 
on the first day.

1.  Is this the correct behaviour for recurring events
2.  Is this the correct procedure for installing kronolith
