I don't know about XP but Outlook 2000 (W2K + lots of
services packs)
chokes on this file also.

Remove the characters CN=: and Outlook 2000 is fine

My workaround was to make the third from last line
looks like this

ORGANIZER;MAILTO: 

(sorry I don't use horde - yet - I found you today
when I googled for
iCalendar tools - so I don't know which app is to
blame)

I have had similar experiences to Jan when importing
multiple iCalendar attachments into Outlook - even
when mailing from
one Outlook mailbox to another.  Workaround is only to
forward a single
appointment per mail.
