I don´t know what you mean with "clean install". I´ve created al the 
databases new for this installation, from the scripts provided with 
horde and kronolith distributions. How those permissions you are talking 
about must be set?. I can show my horde_categories table contents:

I supose, the invite button should appear when I start an event 
definition, isn´t it?

I don´t know what you mean with these? Is it posible to manage groups 
with any other user than the admin one? How it would be posible to 
manage users if I´m using IMP with IMAP to authenticate my users.
