I won't pretend to understand the inner workings of Reminders nor 
anything else
of Horde ;), but wouldn't "simply" a final check for each user that *has*
PERMS_READ for a given calendar, to see if they're also "subscribed" to it,
right before the e-mail is sent suffice?
