[kronolith] Problems showing calendars

I am experiencing the same difficulty as Dale Miller in

I am using a fresh install of the horde groupware webmail edition, which
includes Horde 3.2.1 and Kronolith 2.2

Calendars are created in the kronolith_shares table, but do not appear
for the user in the Default select box or on the floating control panel.

The only thing I have noticed is that the kronolith_shares.share_owner
field is truncated: martin.settle at localfoodlinks.org.uk becomes
martin.settle at localfoodlinks.org  Would this have an effect, and if so,
how do I 'fix' it?
