When you enter the module, it checks if you .forward exists, and if so it
fetches the contents via ftp so it can display the current forward. Then
when you change the forward, it deletes the .forward file, and writes a new
one. Once it does that, it goes back to the main page which once again
checks if it exists, and if so, it fetches the contents for display.
So, it will make lots of connections. The original version didn't do
all this;
it was added later "by user demand"...

Maybe you have a identd/auth check that is timing out on each check?
Maybe you have a network issue, or firewall issue, that is delaying it?
