[sork] smbldap with german umlaute

Hello list

We use Horde: 3.0.10  with Passwd: H3 (3.0) Our users are stored in an 
Openldap-DB.
we use for backend : $backends['smbldap'] = array(
...    'driver' => 'smbldap', ....

I have a problem by creating passwords with german umlaute. If i will 
store a password with german umlaute in ldap with the horde 
passwd-module, the userpassword attribute  ist created and stored 
correct but the lmpasswd and ntpasswd attribute  are wrong - i cant 
login in samba. If i use a password without german umlaute all is ok.

How can i fix - please help
