there is also a nice docu about what to do with the "framework"

does your webserver has the permission to write to /tmp/sync ? Did you  
setup php logging? (E_ALL) and PEAR_DEBUG_LOG?

You need to point your client to http://webadress.domain.tld/rpc.php
