Try the synthesis.ch client. Commercial, but works better.

The Sync4j plugin for WindowsMobile 2003 is currently not really 
supported by the horde webserver.

If somebody provides patches to make it work, I'll happily merge them.
But on my personal todo list support for Sync4j/WindowsMobile is very 
much at the bottom.
