[sync] Help with iPhone/Funambol sync

Have you checked which address book is used for SyncML (Turba  
Settings!) and checked if you are able to add a contact "by-hand" if  
you are loged in as that user?

It should not matter. If you log in by browser for webmail (IMP/Horde)  
it should be the same authentication.
